A Quick Note On Outdoor Inoculation And Incubation
Before you add your spawn, make sure the environment and substrate are
really wet and then do your mixing and water again.
Then cover the bed with cardboard, fleece, cloth, etc. to keep it warm and
moist while it incubates. It’s important to protect the mycelium from sun
exposure and don’t forget to water it. It needs to be damp not saturated, so
once a week is usually enough.
What you’re aiming for is the quick establishment of one large
interconnected mycelial mat.
